and we're back in business!

Hi everyone!

Take a good look around jericho_tv and you might see a few changes. First there's the layout, then there's the community profile.

Why all the channges? The community is now under new management: mine!

If you're wary of my modding skills, check out hpicontest. I took over that community in April 2006 and only recently left. So I've definitely been around the block before.

I'd like to say, to begin with, that I'm taking my modship very seriously. I believe that the Jericho LJ fandom has the potential to rival the Harry Potter fandom, even. Look at what we've done with our Nuts Campaign for our beloved show! I'd like to see that happen for a book.

That means we need to breathe some life into our existing communities and/or create more. We also need more fanfiction, icons, graphics, fanvids, fanart, anything that you can come up with to support the show.

Remember what Carol Barbee, Jericho's creator and executive producer said: "The 18-49 demographic [the CBS executives are] all so keen on is online."

We have a voice! It's time we used it! And think about it - writing fanfic is a lot cheaper too :D

To see all of the lovely Jericho communities already in existence, check out the newbie guide created by sunryse00.

And now that the community is open again, feel free to discuss whatever you'd like about the show! I just ask that if you're going to discuss the campaign to save the show, do it over at savejericho. :D

I've been wondering this for a while, so here it is:

Poll #998394 Fanfiction/Fanart Challenge

Would you be interested in participating in a fanfiction/fanart challenge over the summer?

Yes! Definitely!
Maybe, if I have the time for it.
Only if the show is picked up again.

What kind of challenge would you be interested in participating in?

a summery theme
based on specific prompts
a fic exchange! it's Christmas in July!
other (please make your suggestion in a comment to this post!)

Of course, I'm open to any suggestions, so fire away!

We have our show back!!!

To the Fans of Jericho:

Over the past few weeks you have put forth an impressive and probably unprecedented display of passion in support of a prime time television series. You got our attention; your emails and collective voice have been heard.

As a result, CBS has ordered seven episodes of “Jericho” for mid-season next year. In success, there is the potential for more. But, for there to be more “Jericho,” we will need more viewers.

A loyal and passionate community has clearly formed around the show. But that community needs to grow. It needs to grow on the CBS Television Network, as well as on the many digital platforms where we make the show available.

We will count on you to rally around the show, to recruit new viewers with the same grass-roots energy, intensity and volume you have displayed in recent weeks.

At this time, I cannot tell you the specific date or time period that “Jericho” will return to our schedule. However, in the interim, we are working on several initiatives to help introduce the show to new audiences. This includes re-broadcasting “Jericho” on CBS this summer, streaming episodes and clips from these episodes across the CBS Audience Network (online), releasing the first season DVD on September 25 and continuing the story of Jericho in the digital world until the new episodes return. We will let you know specifics when we have them so you can pass them on.

On behalf of everyone at CBS, thank you for expressing your support of “Jericho” in such an extraordinary manner. Your protest was creative, sustained and very thoughtful and respectful in tone. You made a difference.

Nina Tassler
President, CBS Entertainment

P.S. Please stop sending us nuts :)

Another mod!

Well folks, not only did we get the show back and this community back, but we've also got another mod!

Everyone say hi to hellokimberly who hails from savejericho!

Now that we know the show is officially coming back, we need some really good ideas for recruiting new viewers. There's no official word on which medium is the best (TV, Innertube, iTunes, etc.), but we still need some good brainstorming on how to sell our show.

Any ideas?
